As an approved trader we can grant fast-track Customs clearance for goods shipped to you.

Customs approved traders’ terms and conditions

If you are a GST registered business, you must account for the GST on your imports in your quarterly return to Revenue Jersey.

If you are not a GST registered business, you must declare and pay GST (and any other duties owed) within 30 days. You can pay using any of the methods described in the payment section below.

As an approved trader you must pay GST / duty on all imports, even if the amount you owe on a single consignment is less than the de minimis threshold that exempts imported personal goods from customs duty and GST.

You can apply to become an approved importer of third-country goods. However, you must be able to show that you can correctly classify, declare and pay duties owed on such imports.

Excise goods (alcohol and tobacco) and fast-track clearance

You can apply for fast-track clearance if you regularly import excise goods, but strict rules apply.

You must be able to show:

  • a satisfactory trading record with the Jersey Customs and Immigration Service
  • that you can make timely, correct import declarations and duty payments

How to pay duties or GST owed on your imports

Whenever you make a payment, quote your Customs invoice number and your name.

You can pay:

  • online using your debit or credit card
  • by BACS
  • by cheque / postal order (payable to ‘Treasurer of the States’ and addressed to ‘Revenue and Goods Control – Jersey Customs and Immigration Service’)
