Request

A

Since January 2021 when the Covid-19 vaccine was beginning to roll out how many people died:

A) who were double vaccinated

B) who had only received one vaccination

C) who had been unvaccinated

B

Since the beginning of Covid-19 so approximately March 2020, with regards to those that have died please state the total number that died that had no underlying health issue

Response

A

Data on COVID-19 deaths has been included in the annually produced mortality report. Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has therefore been applied. Please see the following link:

Annual Mortality Report for 2020 published online (gov.je)

Information is publicly available on www.gov.je in response to a previous Freedom of Information (FOI) response in relation to COVID-19 vaccinations and mortality. Article 23 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 has therefore been applied. Please see the following link:

Deaths since receiving Covid-19 vaccinations by age and make of vaccine (FOI)

To date, no registered deaths have been linked to COVID-19 vaccination or side effects in Jersey, but if there were any instances of this, it would also be included in the annual mortality reporting (where numbers are large enough to disclose).

Coverage of vaccination is now so high across Jersey’s population, especially amongst older individuals, with over 97% of over 50’s now vaccinated, it is anticipated that the majority of deaths from any cause (which occur primarily in older individuals) will be in individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Providing a metric of deaths of any cause occurring in individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 is of very limited value.

B

The number of people who have died since March 2020 where Covid is recorded on the death certificate with no other underlying condition is three. The details can be found already published at the following links:

Covid-19 related deaths (FOI)

Covid-19 deaths with no other contributory causes (FOI)
