When information is published by the F.O.I. Office which is incorrect what is the process of correcting it or having it reviewed if a. It was your submission. B. Someone else’s submission ?
Q.2.
If a series of questions put to the F.O.I. Office are not consistent with previous answers published in relation to the questions what is the process to clarify this and establish facts over contradictory publications for questions previously published a. If it is your own submission and b. If it is someone else’s submission ?

What is the correct way to establish the facts if the States F.O.I. Office publishes answers that upon submission to the Parishes F.O.I. Office are at variance with each other ?

Who does the F.O.I. Office report to ?

What is the correct tel number to speak to an F.O.I. Officer or employee and can this be published for reference on the F.O.I, pages ?

What is the correct e mail to contact the F.O.I. For enquiries in general and can this be published for reference on the F.O.I. Pages and if it is the same as the one used for submitting questions how long does it usually take to get an acknowledgement of your e mail correspondence ?

Is the response time for enquiries set within the F.O.I. Law ?

As Jersey has one of the least generous Officer response times in the world 12.5 hours limit, which is regularly used to deny answers to questions permitted , what if anything is being done to review the law and bring it into alignment with more generous F.O.I. Practises elsewhere such as the U.K where there is a limit of 18 hours for most public authorities and 24 hours for central government or in the USA where there is no time limit but agencies must respond within 20 working days or in Canada where there is no firm hourly cap or New Zealand where there is no cap or the EU where there is no time cap but must respond within 15 working days with a 15 working day extension or Malta where there is no time limit with a response time of 20 working days extendable to an additional 20 working days or in Guernsey where they operate under a non statutory F.O.I. Code of Practice with a response time of 20 days ?

Article 23 - Information accessible to applicant by other means
(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.
(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
