30 July 2014

Lord Faulks QC, Minister of State for Justice with responsibility for the relationship between the UK Government and the Crown Dependencies, will visit Jersey on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 August 2014.

In his first visit to Jersey since taking over the role from Lord McNally, Lord Faulks will meet His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Sir John McColl; the Bailiff, Sir Michael Birt; the Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst; and other Ministers.

Progress with relationship to be discussed

Recent developments within the Island’s finance industry and Jersey’s economic diversification strategy will be discussed, and there will be a review of the progress made following the Justice Select Committee’s report on the relationship between the Ministry of Justice and the Crown Dependencies.

On Monday evening he will also attend the Ceremony of Light which will commemorate the centenary of Britain’s entry into World War One.
