Trackers launch digital apprenticeship

21 October 2015

A new pilot to train islanders for the digital sector is being launched by Trackers Apprentice Programme.

Five applicants will initially be taken on to work and train in all areas of the digital industry. E-learning will be used to tailor the training to each apprentice and employer. The apprenticeship will last a minimum of 12 months but is flexible and allows employers to suggest other professional qualifications for their apprentice.

The programme is designed for people already working in the digital sector and covers specialisms ranging from service desks to fintech, app development to digital security and any other relevant area.

Workplace advantage

Trackers’ acting manager Stuart Penn said “We’ve created this programme in direct response to what the industry have been telling us about staff. As with all our programmes, this training is specifically tailored to ensure the apprentice develops skills and gains professional qualifications that employers want. This will give apprentices a real advantage in the workplace.”

ESC Minister Deputy Rod Bryans said “We have been working closely with Digital Jersey to bring this to fruition and they will be assisting with funding for some of the candidates. It is a very targeted way to ensure digital companies have access to people with the right skills and qualifications.”

Applications can be submitted from 1 November to 15 November and forms the application will be available on this website and through Digital Jersey from 26 October.
