At Jersey General Hospital we aim to provide the highest standards of care for every patient. This includes the care you receive through our private patient service.

Health and Community Services launched a new accreditation system in 2018. It is called Jersey Nursing Assessment and Accreditation System (JNAAS). This allows nurses to measure the quality of care they deliver.

Each assessment criteria is given a red, amber or green rating, with green being the highest rating. Sorel ward, our private inpatient ward, received an overall Green Level 2 Assessment in February 2019, for the second year running.

This in-depth assessment covers every aspect of patient care including:

  • organisation and management of clinical areas
  • safeguarding patients
  • pain management
  • patient and environmental safety
  • nutrition and hydration
  • end of life care
  • medicines management
  • person centred care
  • communication
  • infection control
  • governance

We also receive regular feedback through our Private Patient Survey. This helps us to measure the quality of our care and change our service for the better.
