About Jersey Appointments Commission

​​​​What the Jersey Appointments Commission do

The Jersey Appointments Commission is an independent body that oversees the recruitment of States’ employees and appointees to States supported or related bodies. 

We ensure that the selection is fair, efficient and conducted in accordance with best practice and procedures.

Guides on recruitment and selection

The Commission produces 3 guides on recruitment and selection: 

  • ​a recruitment code to set out the principles and processes to be applied in recruitment and selection activities for all appointments
  • ​a guide on senior recruitment to provide processes for employing seniors within the public service
  • ​a code of practice that sets out principles and processes for employment within quangos
