COVID Status Certification

COVID Status Certification (CSC) is the process so you can prove you have:

  • completed a COVID-19 vaccination course
  • are recently recovered from a previous infection with COVID-19
  • had a recent negative COVID-19 test

This proof can be used national and internationally in order to participate in domestic or border COVID Status Certificate schemes.

The Government of Jersey COVID Status Certification Scheme currently provides paper and digital evidence of vaccination status for anyone who has a Jersey COVID-19 vaccination record.

Over the next few months, evidence of a previous Infection with COVID-19 and evidence of a recent negative COVID-19 test will be added into the Government of Jersey COVID Status Certification scheme.

The Government of Jersey works closely with the UK Government and other international partners to make sure that the evidence provided in Jersey is internationally accepted and remains compatible with any developing systems.

Who can get a COVID Status Certificate

You can get your COVID Status Certificate showing your vaccination status if the Government of Jersey holds a COVID-19 vaccination record for you, either because:

  • all doses of the vaccine were delivered in Jersey
  • you have submitted and had approved evidence of a COVID-19 vaccine given to you in another country using the coronavirus vaccination evidence submission form

You can get your COVID Status Certificate in a paper or digital format.

Digital COVID Status Certificate

You can view and display your Vaccination Status as part of your digital COVID Status Certificate if we hold a COVID-19 vaccination record for you.

Information will be digitally displayed for all doses administered.

QR codes are generated for your first and second doses of a COVID-19 vaccination. You can also choose to email a PDF version of these QR codes to your email address. You can then print them or save it.

The QR codes are valid for a maximum of 30 days. Each time you log on to your digital COVID Status Certificate a new set of QR codes are generated.

Third doses

As Jersey's QR codes are generated in partnership with NHSX, QR codes for third primary doses or booster doses are not currently available. These will be made available once the NHS (UK) platform and the EU Digital COVID Certificate Gateway support it.

Currently, only data is shown on screen for your third dose without a QR code.

Travelling and COVID Status Certificates

You can show your paper or digital COVID Status Certificate as proof of your Vaccination Status when travelling abroad.

Make sure you:

  • check the entry requirements for your destination country on the GOV.UK foreign travel advice pages
  • get up to date information from the website of your destination country
  • confirm with your destination country that they will accept a Jersey COVID Status Certificate as proof of Vaccination Status

You may still be required to show other proof such as a negative COVID-19 test, and you may still have to isolate on arrival.

You can present your Vaccination Status QR codes in a digital or printed format for travel or use in domestic certification schemes.

At present they can be used in certain limited situations, including:

In the coming days, the UK is expected to join the EU Digital COVID Certificate Gateway, which will allow Jersey digital COVID Status Certificates to be used for travel and domestic use across Europe and beyond.

Travelling to the United Kingdom

You do not need to evidence your Vaccination Status to enter the United Kingdom, but Scotland and Wales have introduced domestic schemes that require you to prove your Vaccination Status for entry to certain venues or events.

Your COVID Status Certificate will provide the evidence required. The QR code for your second dose is the one that should be scanned, as this is the one that proves you are fully vaccinated.

Travelling to France

Your QR code can be scanned into the French "TousAntiCovid" app and then presented at relevant venues on your digital device or you can print it out and show it at the venue. The QR code for your second dose is the one that should be scanned, as this is the one that proves you are fully vaccinated.

The French authorities require that to be recognised as fully vaccinated, your second dose should have been administered at least 7 days before using the QR code for entry.

Travelling to Europe

The UK is expected to join the EU Digital COVID Certificate Gateway. This will allow Jersey digital COVID Status Certificates to be used for travel and domestic use across Europe and beyond.
