Digital Health Delivery Group

About the Digital Health Delivery Group

We are a team of health, care and digital professionals from across the Island.

The group acts in an advisory capacity. It includes the Minister for Health and Social Security and representatives from:

  • the Hospital
  • General Practice
  • Family Nursing and Home Care
  • Information Governance
  • Digital Jersey

The group is voluntary. Members are not paid to be part of the group.

We offer our expertise to shape and support the digital transformation of Jersey’s health and care system. Using digital tools and technology to modernise services, our goal is to create a system that is:

  • connected
  • efficient
  • focused on patients
This transformation will improve care for Islanders and better support the healthcare professionals who look after you.

Why this is important

Currently health and care information in Jersey is spread across more than 20 different systems. Many of these systems don’t connect with each other and some still use paper records.

This can lead to poor patient outcomes, including safety incidents and delays. It also contributes to inequality in access to services and reduces value for money through workforce inefficiencies.

As our population ages and more people live with long-term conditions, we expect these challenges to grow.

The Digital Health Delivery Group’s work will help:

  • improve patient safety and health outcomes
  • provide Islanders with better access to care
  • support the health and care workforce
  • ensure better use of public resources and value for money
Our priorities

We’re focused on:

  • investing in modern digital systems
  • connecting health and care records
  • making sure information is shared safely and securely
  • helping you access and manage your own health information

Supporting healthcare professionals

We want healthcare professionals to have the right information at the right time so they can give you safer, more joined up care. This includes:

  • your GP
  • hospital staff
  • community nurses
  • mental health teams
  • Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) services

With better access to accurate, up-to-date information, they can:

  • understand your needs more clearly
  • spend less time on paperwork
  • focus more on providing care

Better data sharing

We’re exploring a secure, Island-wide approach to sharing health and care information. This will help:

  • make care more joined-up across services
  • avoid repeating your medical history or tests
  • make booking and managing appointments easier
  • give healthcare professionals real-time access to important information like medications and allergies
  • give you more control over your own health information

Keeping your information safe

Protecting your personal health information is a top priority.

We are committed to:

  • strong data protection and privacy standards
  • clear rules about who can access your information and why
  • full training for staff on how to handle data safely
  • using your information only to support your care

Have your say

You’ll have opportunities to share your views and help shape this work as it develops.

We’re committed to being open and involving the community throughout the programme.
