Bee keeper registration

​​Registering as a beekeeper

It is a legal requirement for anyone who owns a hive with bees, or a hive which has at any time contained a colony of bees, to register with the Department of the Environment.  The owner of the hive must inform the department by completing a registration form within 28 days of becoming a hive owner.

American Foulbrood: notifiable disease

Beekeepers must ensure that they inspect the brood regularly and report any suspicion of American Foulbrood disease to the Department of the Environment.
