Advance Plus trainees to get tour of finance industry

07 March 2013

Jersey Finance is hosting an induction day on Thursday 7 March 2013 for the 14 people attending the Advance Plus advanced administration scheme.

Trainees will be given an introduction to the finance industry, a chance to tune-up their CV for prospective employers and visits to Jersey Finance member firms.

Advance Plus Manager Digby Ellis-Brecknell said the day was an excellent chance for trainees to meet employers and get an inside view of the finance industry. “We are grateful to Jersey Finance for putting this induction together for us. It provides an invaluable insight into the industry and the expectations and requirements of employers in the finance sector.”

Mock interviews

Over the next two weeks, Jersey Finance will also be hosting a meet and greet lunch for trainees to meet employers in an informal setting and mock interviews to help them prepare for future job opportunities.

The Communications Manager at Jersey Finance, Carla Harris, said “We are delighted to be supporting Advance Plus and Back to Work and designed the induction day in partnership with four of our member firms, Bracken Rothwell Limited, TMF Group, HSBC and DCG Corporate Services, who will be hosting candidates as they take a ‘city tour’ of the finance industry.”

Advance Plus is an employment scheme administered by Back to Work at Social Security and provides 10-week long industry-specific courses which include training, work placements and mentoring. It supports motivated unemployed people aged 20 and over and its courses include training in the retail, care, administration and IT sectors.
