The 2014 Jersey Higher Education Fair will be the biggest in the event's 22 years, with more than 70 universities from the UK and overseas taking part.
The fair, which is taking place at Hautlieu School on Thursday 13 March, will have more exhibitors than ever before. It is open from 1.30pm to 6.30pm and is free to attend.
It is a chance for anyone interested in university to find out more about studying and life on campus. Representatives will be there to explain the courses and facilities they can offer and to give guidance to prospective students. In addition there will be 32 presentations ranging from teaching to engineering, and volunteering abroad, to portfolio preparation for creative courses.
Education Liaison Manager at Careers Jersey, Jeremy Field, said “Our aim is to provide a range of information in one place to help students and parents consider the different options around higher education. The event gives individuals a valuable opportunity to speak face-to-face with university representatives. We are grateful for the support of Capita Asset Services who have sponsored this event for the past five years.”
Managing Director of Capita Asset Services in Jersey, Bo Matthiesen, said "We’re delighted to strengthen our relationship with Careers Jersey by sponsoring the Higher Education Fair again. This event plays an important role in helping local students make an informed decision about both their further education and future career. Supporting the Higher Education Fair is part of our commitment to investing in the local communities in which we work – helping to create better tomorrows.”
Before and after the fair, university representatives will be visiting Jersey’s secondary schools to talk to students aged 14 and over. The visitors will lead interactive workshops aimed at encouraging young people to think about higher education and the options available.
More details about the presentations being held at the fair can be found on the Higher Education Fair page.
