Liberation Day arrangements

07 May 2015

The Bailiff has requested that, as part of the Liberation 70 commemorations, flags are flown at full mast from Saturday 9 May to Sunday 10 May 2015 inclusive.

A two minute silence is also to be observed on VE Day Friday 8 May at 3 pm to coincide with the moment Winston Churchill broadcast to the nation on 8 May 1945 in recognition of all those who died in the war including those who served from Jersey.

Transport

Meanwhile, people can park for free in all public parking spaces on Saturday 9 May. The Transport and Technical Services Minister, Deputy Eddie Noel has confirmed that parking arrangements for a Bank Holiday will apply and parking will be free in the car parks run by TTS and the Jersey Development Company, and in public spaces on-street and around the Island.

LibertyBus will be operating a normal Saturday service.

Tickets

Island residents and visitors wishing to attend Liberation 70 commemorations don't need tickets for the events in Liberation Square and People's Park, unless they want a seat.
