Roadworks in St Mary

20 January 2015

The JEC will be making an electricity supply connection to a house on Rue des Buttes which will involve roadworks starting today (Tuesday 20 January).

The programme is:

  • Tuesday 20 January – The westbound lane of Rue des Buttes will be closed and traffic will be controlled by traffic lights
  • Wednesday 21 January – no roadworks and no traffic restrictions
  • Thursday 22 January – After the morning peak, the eastbound lane of Rue des Buttes will be closed and traffic will be controlled by traffic lights. The lights will be left overnight to allow asphalt to solidify
  • Friday 23 January – The traffic lights will be taken down before 7am

The new supply can only be provided by excavation across the road just east of Rue des Buttes and Rue de la Rosière junction. However, TTS has worked with the JEC to minimise disruption.

St Mary's Village improvements

Although Transport and Technical Services (TTS) have worked with the utility companies to coordinate roadworks around the St Mary's Village improvements, which are also causing traffic disruption, it was felt unreasonable to delay this particular project.
