Number plate auction

Short or easy to remember number plates are up for auction at 10.30am on Saturday 11 June 2016 at The Great Hall at Highlands College (doors open 9am).

There are 58 number plates available at the auction. J008, J009, JSY41 and JSY42 could be some of the more popular numbers. Last year’s auction was very popular, with winning bids ranging from £650 to £45,000.

This is the second time any ‘J00’ numbers have been issued. Last year J007 fetched £45,000.

Deputy Eddie Noel, Minister for Infrastructure, said “We have another interesting selection of numbers in this year’s auction, including four sequential pairs of numbers which might suit a husband and wife.”

As well as annual auctions, DVS also has an online list for reservation of five and six digit registration numbers available for purchase for £250 at DVS offices.

Income from auction sales pays for essential DVS equipment or other transport related items.
