La Collette - appeal dismissed

12 August 2016

The Minister for the Environment has dismissed an appeal against the redevelopment of La Collette flats.

Andium Homes’ proposal (PP/2015/0747) to redevelop La Collette Flats in Green Street was approved last year by the then Planning Applications Committee.

Andium applied to demolish five existing low-rise blocks containing 59 housing units and to build five larger blocks providing 147 new affordable homes.

This permission was appealed under the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002. The appeal was considered by an independent planning inspector, who concluded it should be dismissed.

The Minister for the Environment, Deputy Steve Luce, considered and accepted the inspector’s recommendations, which means Andium Homes keeps its permission to develop the housing complex.
