Landlords are being invited to a free seminar which will help them understand their responsibilities following the introduction of minimum standards for rented accommodation.
Legislation which takes effect today (Monday 1 October) paves the way for minimum standards in rented dwellings, and enables the Minister for the Environment to take steps where they are not met.
Environmental Health are hosting a seminar where landlords, letting agents and managing agents will be helped to understand their legal responsibilities. The 90-minute seminar will run four times on Tuesday 9 October at St Helier Town Hall and is free to attend.
Stewart Petrie, Director of Environmental Health, said: “This is a useful opportunity for landlords to understand what the minimum standards will be, what isn’t expected, and to have direct access to officers from Environmental Health to discuss individual concerns.”
