Procurement begins for Fort Regent

Earlier this year, the Chief Minister announced plans to transform Fort Regent into a first class cultural and leisure destination equipped with winter gardens, leisure box, casino, venue and children’s outdoor playgrounds.  

The phased vision is likely to take up to 10 years to complete, however, the appointment of this design team forms a key part of the project’s delivery. 

The procurement process begins today with the release of the pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ), which will be live for seven weeks.  Applicants from both on and off Island are being invited to apply, with the PQQ being used to assess the suitability of an organisations’ relevant experience and capability, enabling government to then produce a shortlist of companies to be invited to tender.

Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré said: “The critical process of preparing for relocation of existing Fort Regent users to new and improved facilities has already started. Appointing a Visionary Framework Design team is the next crucial step to delivering our plans for Fort Regent. Following the public consultation, which resulted in a 75% approval for the overall development proposals, the design team will now develop these plans into a scheme capable of achieving planning consent.”

In addition, teams from Infrastructure, Housing and Environment have started conducting environmental surveys in the grounds of Fort Regent in preparation for the phase 1 plans to transform some of the external areas into new green spaces.
