About Team Jersey

Team Jersey is a programme designed to build on the positive aspects of our organisation and understand what we need to change to develop a culture of teamwork, collaboration, learning and innovation.

Through a series of interventions and learning opportunities, of which these toolkits form part, we will explore how we each contribute to and can effect positive change in our working relationships, to create an environment where we feel valued, included, focussed, and inspired.

About the toolkits

Team Jersey has designed portable Toolkits containing activities to help promote a positive workplace culture for all teams across Government. Everything you need is in one neat box. Just add your team, post-it notes and pens and you're all set!

Each Toolkit:

  • is split into 3 sections each with its own exercises and activities. Sections take approximately 1.5 hours to complete and can be run in a stand-alone session or all three sections completed in one go
  • is designed to be a re-useable resource that teams can refer to for refresher sessions, staying on track and always improving
  • contains easy to follow instructions with how-to videos to help you facilitate the session
  • can be supported by Team Jersey Leads to help you to facilitate
  • can be run at a time convenient to you and your team

There are currently two Toolkits available:

  1. Building High Performing Teams Toolkit
  2. Our Values Toolkit

Building High Performing Teams Toolkit

This Toolkit is designed to make sure we are always improving our team performance and delivering great public services.

In the three sections you will look at:

  1. Our high performing team – What do we need in order be high performing, how can we improve and what should we keep doing?
  2. Our Team story – a fun but important task. Looking to the future, if we are being celebrated as a high performing team, what are we famous for? This will make sure you stay on track and work towards your team's goals
  3. We are Team Jersey – We need each other to build high performing teams. Who do we rely on and who relies on us? This will create more awareness and will help you to develop better working relationships

What's in it for you

The Toolkit will enable you to think about the importance and rewards of being part of a high performing team, and what your role can be in helping develop your team. This helps to create a working environment where people feel they are valued, included, focused and inspired.

Our Values Toolkit

This Toolkit is designed to help you explore the collective values and associated behaviours relevant to your team and gives you the opportunity to reflect on your personal behaviours.

In the three sections you will look at:

  1. Values – In this section you will explore each of the five values to understand them better and how they relate to your team
  2. Behaviours – In this section the values are brought to life when you understand the behaviours that are associated with each of them
  3. Values into action – In this section you will look at how you can take action to embed the values and behaviours in your team

What's in it for you

Workplace culture begins with us individually and with our teams, we have a responsibility to maintain focus on how we work together to deliver great public service. We want to create a culture where all colleagues feel valued, inspired, focussed, and included. Regularly reviewing the values is a great way to achieve this.

How to book a Toolkit

When you're ready to book your Toolkit, email with the following information:

  • which Toolkit you want
  • your Department
  • where you will be doing your Toolkit session
  • when you want to do your Toolkit session

We will then email you back to confirm:

  • which Toolkit has been booked and its unique number
  • the location, date and time for collection
  • the date the Toolkit must be returned (2 weeks from collection date)
  • what resources are useable during the sessions

We will also give you the link to the evaluation form.

Once you have the Toolkit, scan the QR code on your phone or other device.

The Toolkits are easy to use with full instructions in the kit. However, if you feel like you need some help with facilitation, contact one of the Team Jersey Leads in your Department and they will be able to help.

Returning the Toolkit

We will send you a reminder email 10 days after collection, 4 days before the return date. The Toolkit must be returned to the location from which it was collected, currently either Bermuda House or The Parade.


To ensure that we are always improving, we welcome feedback.
