Registering as a pharmacist

​Register as a pharmacist

You must be registered under Jersey law to work as a pharmacist in Jersey. It’s against the law to work as a pharmacist if you’re not registered.

To register, you must also be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacist. 

To apply for registration you must:

  • complete the application form below and send it to the Chief Pharmacist at Jersey General Hospital
  • apply to the GPhC for a Certificate of Current Professional Status (CCPS) send this certificate to the Chief Pharmacist
  • pay the registration fee of £100

Make your cheque payable to ‘Treasurer of the States’ and send it with your application form. Our Chief Pharmacist will email you to let you know when you’re registered.

Renew your registration

You must renew your registration as a pharmacist every year. You'll receive an email to initiate this process, together with a renewal form, in early January each year. 

If you do not renew, you’re removed from the register and cannot continue to work as a pharmacist in Jersey.

List of registered pharmacists

To work as a pharmacist in Jersey you must be registered under Jersey law.

You can check if somebody is registered on the Pharmacist Public Register

If you think somebody is working as a pharmacist and you cannot find their name on the register, email pharmacyregistration@health.gov.je.
