Recycling: carrier bags

Where you can dispose of carrier bags

How you can reuse carrier bags

Keep some plastic bags at home, at work and in the car and use them again and again.

Clean carrier bags are often in demand at charity shops to use for customer purchases or as packing for items such as handbags. Otherwise dispose of unusable plastic carrier bags at the Household Reuse & Recycling Centre in the kitchen waste container. If you want to dispose of these at home, dispose of them with your general household waste.

Good to know

Many retailers are now offering paper carrier bags that can be easily recycled. If you still do not wish to take these, try to carry your own reusable fabric bags with you when you go shopping.
