Who can applyā€‹
The Jersey Customs and Immigration Service has aligned with UK Immigration Policy to enable local residents who have family in Ukraine who have been affected by the war to join them in Jersey. To qualify for the Ukraine Family Visa scheme, you must:
- be applying to join your Jersey based family member
- be Ukrainian or the family member of a Ukrainian who is applying to join a Jersey based immediate family member
- have been living in Ukraine on or immediately before 1 January 2022
Your Jersey based family member must be:
- a British National
- settled in Jersey, for example they have indefinite leave to remain
- a Ukrainian national on temporary work permit employment on 24 February 2022
- a person with limited leave as a refugee or who has been granted humanitarian protection
- an EEA national with pre settled status
Permissions granted on this route do not lead to settlement.
Permissions granted under the Homes for Ukraine or Ukraine Family Schemes operated in the United Kingdom, Guernsey and Isle of Man will be recognised in Jersey for those that want to visit the Island, but they will not be eligible to live and work in Jersey.

In February 2024 the UK stopped operating the Ukraine Family Scheme, but Jersey has retained their scheme. Any applications to the Jersey Ukraine Family Scheme should be made on the UK Homes for Ukraine scheme online form. Children born in Jersey to a parent who has permission to stay under Jersey Ukraine Visa Scheme who are in Jersey and have a valid passport or other document which establishes their identity and nationality can apply. For further detail email immigration@gov.je
Jersey does not operate a Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine).
Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme
Ukrainian nationals, or the family members of Ukrainian nationals, living in Jersey with existing permissions granted under either the Jersey Ukraine Family or the Ukraine Extension Schemes may be eligible to apply to the Jersey Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme.
The Jersey Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme is free to apply to and applicants will have their permissions extended for 18 months and will be able to continue to live, work and study in Jersey and have access to support.
This Jersey Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme will open on 4th February 2025
