About Family Food and Fitness
Family Food and Fitness puts families on the right track to healthier futures. The programme will support you and your family to make positive changes to your daily food and fitness routines and help your child grow into a healthier weight.
In the sessions, you’ll learn how to make nutritionally balanced meals and take part in cooking and fun physical activities. You'll learn how to make healthy lunches, snacks, read nutrition labels and portion sizes.
Who the programme is for
The programme is optional and available to families with primary school-aged children, who are above a healthy weight. Whole families are welcome to take part, including siblings.
The Community Dietitian will advise if your child is suitable for Family Food and Fitness.
Families are chosen on a first come, first served basis.

What to expect
The programme runs over an 8 week period. Sessions take place once a week, 3pm to 5pm, with a group of families on school premises. They are delivered by Registered Dietitians and Jersey Sport.
At the start of the eight-week course families are given smart activity trackers to wear throughout the programme, to encourage them to be active and monitor progress towards achieving goals.
