Andrew is a specialist cardiologist with skills in the investigation and management of patients with coronary heart disease, heart failure and cardiac arrhythmias.

He is trained in advanced cardiac imaging including coronary CT angiography, intracardiac and transoesophageal echocardiography.

He is an experienced operator in medical device implantation and follow-up.

Training

Andrew studied medicine at Southampton University and trained at several hospitals in the South of England. He completed a two-year MD studying device therapies for managing heart rhythm abnormalities.

From 2001 he was cardiology registrar at Oxford University Hospitals before moving to Jersey in 2006. He was awarded Fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians, the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology and the European Heart Rhythm Association.

In 2015, Andrew was voted Jersey’s Public Sector Director of the Year and runner-up in the United Kingdom by the Institute of Directors.

In 2016, he was a finalist in the Cardiology Team of the Year category at the British Medical Journal Awards and in 2018, he won the Arrhythmia Alliance National Award for Outstanding Individual who has contributed to arrhythmia service.

Andrew is recognised as an international expert in the management of the most common clinical arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation.
