Giving to Jersey charities: tax form help

Lump sum donation schemes

If you’ve made any donations in the year to charity by lump sum donation, enter the total amount of your giving.

This is the total actual amount you have given, not the grossed up amount the charity claims to get a tax repayment.

How do I know my donation was using the lump sum donation scheme?

You will have completed a lump sum donation form to send to the charity with your donation, or you will have signed a form at work if you were making a donation by a payroll scheme.

Deed of covenant schemes

If you’ve made any donations in the year to charity by deed of covenant, enter the total amount of your giving.

This is the total actual amount you have given, not the grossed up amount the charity claims to get a tax repayment.

How do I know my donation was using the deed of covenant scheme?

You will have signed a form with the charity committing to give a specified amount over a period of time (normally 5 years).
