Jersey Asthma and Respiratory Society

Who we are and what we do

JARS is a charity who raise funds and awareness of asthma and respiratory conditions. Some of the ways we help are:

  • information mornings
  • purchasing equipment for children and adults in the General Hospital
  • helping individuals and families with respiratory equipment
  • raising awareness of these conditions

Information mornings

These free consulting sessions are for people of any age with:

  • asthma
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • other respiratory problems

We help you to learn more about your condition on a one to one basis with our qualified staff.

This service is free and it's funded by JARS and Health and Social Services. We offer support, advice and practical solutions on any lung condition.

Opening times

Our opening times are 9am to 12pm every Saturday, with our last appointment at 11.30am. We close on bank holiday weekends. Prescriptions are not available at these sessions.  

Appointments

It's not essential that you book an appointment, but it's advisable to avoid disappointment. You can contact us on Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

Parking

There is free parking around the grounds.  

Disabled facilities  

The nearest parking areas for disabled drivers are in front of the main building. There is a lift and disabled toilet facilities.  

Our team

The team that support you consists of qualified clinical physiologists and nursing staff.

Donate and fundraising support

You can help to support us by registering as a "friend". Donations are appreciated and we always welcome extra help at our fundraising events. You could also join our committee.
