Appointments
Waiting times
We see you as soon as possible but it may be several months before you receive your first appointment.
What happens at your appointment
Your assessment appointment is one hour long. You may need to complete some forms and the clinician will ask you questions. This helps to determine the best therapy option for you.
After your first appointment
There may be a waiting time after your first appointment while we allocate you to the best treatment option for you. We might:
- direct you to another organisation
- allocate you to one of our groups
- put you on the waiting list for individual therapy
You may wait a couple of months for a therapy group or individual therapy.
Bringing someone with you
As an adult, we encourage you to see the therapist on your own. However, you can bring someone with you for the assessment if you need to. We discourage the presence of children as this can be disruptive and may be distressing for the child.
Your therapist
If you have been allocated to a one to one therapy waiting lists, it isn't possible to choose an individual therapist. However, we always allow the choice of a male or female therapist if this is important to you. Choosing a therapist by gender, may slightly increase the time you wait to see one.
Out of hours appointments
We offer appointments from 8am to 8pm. We also offer appointments in certain GP surgeries.
