Your key documents to bring

You’ll need photo ID such as your passport to register as a resident.

In addition to your photo ID, we recommend that you also bring the following original documents with you:

  • passport
  • national ID card
  • birth certificate
  • marriage / civil partnership certificate (if applicable)
  • driving licence
  • vehicle registration / ownership documents
  • proof of academic qualifications
  • references from previous employers and landlords
  • CV (Curriculum Vitae/Resume)
  • credit references
  • tax assessments
  • certificate of continued liability (if you'll continue to be employed by an employer outside Jersey)
  • previous pay slips
  • health related documents (including health insurance)
  • insurance documents (car, life, contents insurance)

Documents to bring for your children

If you’re moving to Jersey with dependent children, you’ll also need to bring the following original documents with you:

  • child’s passport
  • child’s birth certificate
  • child’s immunisation records or health related documents
