Emergency review of ITIS Effective Rate
These reviews are currently only available if your income has significantly reduced as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. For a limited period, initially 3 months, we will reduce your effective rate if:
- your income has significantly reduced
- your spouse or partner has lost their job, or suffered a significant reduction in income
Please note that this is a short term measure to help those most in need. For some taxpayers, a reduction in effective rate may lead to an underpayment of tax for this year or the previous year. Therefore, care needs to be taken in reducing effective rates and each case will be dealt with based on the facts.
To request an emergency review of your ITIS effective rate please email Revenue Jersey using ‘Emergency ITIS Rate Review’ as your subject header.
You must also include in the email your:
- full name
- TIN or tax reference number
- social security number
- an explanation of your circumstances
We will aim to contact you within 48 hours.
Due to Coronavirus social distancing and stay home measures, our help desk, office and phone lines are closed and letter correspondence will not be processed. Our own staffing levels have been significantly affected. Our priority is to support customers who are experiencing extreme financial hardship and to collect what revenue we can as tax revenues will be an important part of funding for the Government Coronavirus response.
We are running the following essential services, accessible from our website or by email to email@example.com.
- management of qualifying extreme hardship customer cases
- all online tax returns
- limited tax return assessing (to allow those able to pay, to pay what they owe)
- production and delivery of certain statutory notices that we are legally obliged to undertake
