Community and Voluntary organisations in partnership with the Government of Jersey provide free ‘drop in’ activities that are ‘Closer to Home’ and easily accessible within your community.
There are a range of activities that include a variety of health and well-being sessions, support groups and workshops for all to access. They all take place in the Communicare Centre and St Brelade Youth Project.
Closer to Home brings services, activities and advice to a location that’s easy to get to. It began in 2019 and is based at Communicare in St Brelade. The services provided are a partnership with the:
- community and voluntary sector
- Government of Jersey
It's open and free to all islanders who feel they might benefit from what's available. In particular, it's hoped that islanders who are vulnerable can easily access what’s provided and find it helpful.
Groups, clubs and organisations who provide services also publish their activities on their own websites and social media channels. There are leaflets and information in places like:
- GP practices
- Jersey Library
- parish halls
- community centres
The timetable of activities, services and advice available at Communicare updates monthly. They may also extend to other venues in Jersey during 2019.
