About Rayner Outpatient’s Clinic
Rayner Outpatient’s Clinic is a 16 bedded inpatient female gynaecology and surgical ward. We provide inpatient and outpatient gynaecology services.
The outpatient services we provide are:
- gynaecology oncology
- early pregnancy assessment unit (EPAU)
- nurse led ring pessary clinic
- LBC clinics (smear tests)
Rayner Outpatient’s Clinic is located in Gwyneth Huelin Wing, on floor R. You can also access the ward from the main hospital entrance and follow the link corridor to the lifts outside the new MRI scanning unit. There is lift and stair access at both locations.

Visiting times and information
Visiting times are limited on all wards between 2pm to 4pm, and 6pm to 8pm daily. Only 1 pre-arranged visitor per patient can be present at any one time.
Patients will be asked to give the names of relatives and friends who would wish to visit them. Each patient can name a maximum of 2 visitors only. Only those named visitors will be given access and only adults are allowed to visit at this time.
Visitors will receive pre-visit screening to:
- assess travel history and symptom checking
- confirm any previous known exposure to COVID-19
- arrange which ward / department they will be visiting
Visitors will need to:
- enter the hospital via the Gwyneth Huelin entrance
- sign in on entry to the ward or department
- maintain correct hand-hygiene techniques
- wear Protective Personal Equipment (PPE), which will be provided
These important measures are in place to keep people safe. We ask that visitors comply with the guidelines for their continued protection.
Parking is available in Patriotic Street car park.
The nearest parking areas for disabled drivers is in front of the main building and Patriotic Street car park. There is a lift and disabled toilet facilities on Rayner Outpatient’s Clinic.
What to expect: Inpatients
What to bring
On admission, please bring some:
- non-slip shoes or slippers
- comfortable day clothes and night wear
- necessary toiletries
- sanitary wear
Don't bring valuables into hospital with you.
Our mealtimes are:
- breakfast at 8am
- lunch at 12pm
- evening meal at 6pm
Please inform the nurse looking after you if you have any special dietary requirements.
These take place throughout the day. The nurse responsible for your care will inform you when your doctor is likely to see you.
We aim to discharge you from the ward by 11am. If you’re entitled and patient transport is required, tell the nurse caring for you at the earliest opportunity.
We ask that one member of your family or a friend be nominated to phone, and then pass on the information. Routine calls should be after 10am. If we’re with patients, we cannot always answer the phone straight away, please be patience and try again later.
Patient confidentiality is essential. There are occasions when we're unable to share information. Contact us if you need to discuss this.
