Patient information during COVID-19
Visiting has now resumed across Health and Community Services with the following precautions:
- patients will be asked to name a maximum of two relatives or friends for visits
- 1 named visitor can attend for each visitor session only
- adults and children are allowed to visit but children cannot visit a patient with an additional person
The Emergency department is not allowing visitors unless there are exceptional circumstances and Maternity is allowing a partner and one named visitor only.
Before your visit
- visitors are reminded not to come into the hospital if they're showing any COVID-19 symptoms
- pre-visit screening will remain in place to check for any potential exposure to COVID-19
- visitors who have travelled to Jersey from another jurisdiction and would like to visit a patient must wait until their swab results are confirmed negative and they have completed the necessary isolation period
During your visit
Visitors will need to:
- wear masks
- provide evidence of an on-the-day Lateral Flow (photo or test or actual test cartridge)
- sign-in to the relevant ward or department using a newly installed QR code system (or alternative paper system)
- use hand sanitiser and appropriate PPE throughout the visit as directed by ward staff
Exceptional circumstances
Where visiting times may differ:
- the patient you wish to visit is receiving end-of-life care
- you're the partner accompanying a woman in labour or for a scan
- you're a parent or appropriate adult visiting a child on a paediatric ward
Other exceptional circumstances will only be permitted following discussion and agreement with the responsible Lead Nurse for the area.
