About hypnobirthing

Hypnobirthing is a method of pain management that can be used during labour and birth. It can include controlled breathing, visualising, calming and mindfulness techniques to help you concentrate on you and the birth of your baby.

Hypnobirthing can be used alongside other types of pain relief. The techniques can also be used for natural births, assisted births or c-sections.

Hypnobirthing classes and courses

There are several hypnobirthing classes run in Jersey with trained specialists which you can pay privately for. Classes are usually taught in small groups.

There are also online hypnobirthing courses. Ask your midwife or doctor for recommended courses.
