Pain Service

About the Pain Service

The Pain Service is based at the Enid Quenault Health and Wellbeing Centre. We help you to understand, manage, and reduce chronic and persistent pain symptoms (pain that continues for more than three months), and improve your health and quality of life.

The Spinal Assessment Service and Persistent Pelvic Pain Service are both part of the Pain Service and Pain Support Jersey is our associated charity.

We run:

  • Explain Pain Sessions
  • community movement and exercise sessions
  • mindfulness practice
  • work support and work rehabilitation programmes
  • an intensive eight day Pain Management Programme

Your first appointment

On your first visit to the Pain Service, one of our team will assess you to determine which treatments will help to you the most.

This is your opportunity to ask questions about any difficulties or concerns you have about your pain. You'll also be given the details of a member of the Nursing Team who will be your point of contact while you are under the care of the Pain Service.

Explain Pain Sessions

  • learn more about the science of pain
  • ask different members of the team questions
  • find out what we can do to support you

The course is based on current scientific understanding of pain. The topics covered during the day include:
  • differences between acute and persistent pain
