Children’s Services does not require employees to hold a specific qualification for dealing with child sexual and physical abuse. However, the Children’s Service currently employs 78 qualified registered social workers who will have this knowledge. All staff employed by Community and Social Services have access to safeguarding training at a level appropriate to their role. Additionally, 22 Staff have recently attended a two day course dealing with these issues. Training and development is continuously ongoing within the service.
