Do mental health and community health visitors regularly visit Shelters and States Funded supporting living accommodation at an agreed weekly time or have a drop-in service for these individuals at their premises, for example is there a weekly, or fortnightly time where residents, are able to get there health needs met?
There is no regular mental health drop-in service for Shelters or other States-funded supported living accommodation. Following a review with the Shelter Trust the drop-in service ceased, due to a low uptake. Instead, it was agreed that Shelter Trust staff could access Mental Health Services pathways on behalf of clients. This includes emergency, urgent and routine. Clients can also be referred into the service by their GP or other health professional, including via the Emergency Department.
Individuals receive follow-up and ongoing support as needed as part of their own individual care plan.
Please note that Health Visiting services are provided by Family Nursing and Home Care (FNHC). FNHC are not covered by the Freedom of Information Law.
Mental Health Services run weekly clinics at the Prison and Probation Service.
