I would like to request the following information under the freedom of information act please.
I request that you provide me with any published and or unpublished reports, data, research,
studies, and or exercises your 999 / emergency service has commissioned and or undertaken to explore the patient / service user experience of telephone assessment by health care professionals; commonly known as hear and treat or telephone triage. This includes any historical data and not solely the previous financial year and refers only to the enhanced assessment of patients by clinical staff based in ambulance service controls / hubs.
I am undertaking an independent academic study involving a systematic review of the literature relating to patient / service user experiences of telephone / remote triage / assessment when using 999 services only. I am keen to explore the extent to which the experiences of patients being assessed by nurses, doctors, pharmacists, and paramedics over the phone when calling 999 have been explored specifically. This does not include any such research involving NHS 111, Direct, or NHS 24 services you may also run or have run. Given the systematic nature of this research, if this information is publicly available please can you please direct me to its current online location. This is to ensure I am not missing any possible data; despite me also searching your public databases.
