The Marine Resources Strategy Consultation ran from 04/07/2013 until 27/09/2013; the responses from the public are available on the States of Jersey website. However, no overall result has yet been published. Could you please advise the following:

How much has the consultation process cost to date?
B.
The manpower resources allocated to this project.
C.
Provide details of any consolidated findings and when these will be published.
D.
What are the plans and timescale to progress the publicised objectives?

Giving an exact manpower resource allocation for this project is difficult given the thematic nature of the work, as many issues cut across both the Department of the Environment and the Economic Development Department, but it is estimated that 40 days were spent on this project.
C.
Detailed consolidated findings were presented to the Marine Resources Panel on the 3rd March 2014. At that meeting it was agreed that further engagement with critical stakeholders was still required. It was also noted that the consultation was too complex and any further strategy would require simplification. No date has yet been set for further publication.
D.
Following review of consultation responses a number of policies in the consultation have been actioned as they either received clear support or were superseded by other policies or decisions.
Of the 45 policies in the consultation:
- 8 have been completed
- 3 have been dealt with through the economic review of aquaculture
- 5 have been addressed (or partially addressed) by the agreed EDD Winter Aid package
- 10 are active work streams
The 19 policies remaining will be the subject of further discussion either with the appropriate Department, Marine Resources Panel or external stakeholders.
The timescales for the uncompleted projects will depend on the resources available, which are yet to be agreed and, depending on the project, external factors that cannot be quantified in terms of timescale.
